Admission Process
Ministerial Calling: Reformed and Presbyterian Seminary is committed to its vision of training leaders for Christ’s church in Nepal; therefore, a felt calling for ministry is the first and foremost requirement for admission. Applicants must have the assurance of being backed up by senior pastors and ministry leaders’ recommendations before starting the application process.
Academic requirements: The seminary offers a Bachelor of Theology degree, so applicants must have a 12th. pass certificate or its equivalent before applying. Applicants who are waiting for the 12th. grade exam results or have back papers may apply for conditional admission. However, they must complete their 12th. grade for the ATA-accredited degree certificate.
English language requirements: Even though most of our faculty members are Nepali, the medium of study at RPS is English. This is mainly because of the lack of standard theological resources in Nepali. Therefore, a basic knowledge of English is required for admissions. Keeping in mind the challenges of English language, RPS also offers English language courses for our first-year students at the seminary.
Scholarships and Financial Aid: Residential theological education in Kathmandu valley is expensive. The cost includes tution, food, lodging and various other facilities we provide for our students. We try to provide all our students scholarships up to 75% of their total cost. However, we also require students, the sending local churches, and their families to take responsibility for paying at least 25% of their consolidated fee. Please contact us for more information.
